Sweep and Climatiq Partner to Improve Scope 3 Carbon Accounting with AI

Sustainability software companies Sweep and Climatiq have announced a partnership to help businesses improve Scope 3 emissions reporting through AI-powered product carbon footprint (PCF) calculations. Announced on 26 October 2026, the collaboration integrates Climatiq's independently verified ISO 14067-aligned calculation methodology into Sweep's supply chain platform. The new Guided PCF feature aims to help suppliers calculate product-level emissions, including those with limited carbon accounting expertise, while enabling corporate buyers to access more consistent data for Scope 3 Category 1 emissions associated with purchased goods and services.

The integration introduces a conversational AI workflow that guides suppliers through the carbon footprint calculation process. Suppliers can upload a bill of materials, after which Sweep's AI and Climatiq's emissions factor matching technology help identify relevant materials, estimate missing information and generate traceable product carbon footprints. Climatiq's calculation engine draws on emissions factors from more than 60 data providers across over 300 regions, using an approach aligned with the Partnership for Carbon Transparency (PACT) methodology. Suppliers with existing product carbon footprints can upload their data directly, while buyers can use Sweep's PCF Campaigns to request product-level information from multiple suppliers through a single process.

The partnership addresses a challenge in corporate sustainability reporting: the limited availability of reliable supplier-specific emissions data. Many businesses still calculate purchased goods emissions using industry averages or expenditure-based estimates, which may not accurately reflect differences between products and suppliers. Sweep's Guided PCF approach allows companies to begin with broader emissions estimates, collect supplier-specific information and generate more detailed product footprints where greater precision is required. By applying consistent calculation methodologies, procurement and sustainability teams can compare emissions across suppliers and identify opportunities to reduce supply chain carbon footprints.

Rachel Delacour, CEO and Co-founder of Sweep, said, "This partnership turns a complex, expert-heavy process into a guided AI-driven conversational experience inside Sweep." Hessam Lavi, Co-founder and CEO of Climatiq, highlighted the importance of making reliable product-level carbon information accessible across enterprise supply chains. The companies bring established enterprise customer networks to the partnership, with Sweep serving organisations including L'Oréal, Thales and Crocs, while Climatiq works with companies such as Celonis and IntegrityNext. Climatiq's emissions factor Mapping Agent also supports 47 languages, potentially improving accessibility for suppliers operating across international markets.

The integration comes as businesses face increasing expectations to improve the accuracy and transparency of Scope 3 emissions reporting under regulatory frameworks including the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and California's climate disclosure requirements. The companies aim to reduce the time and technical expertise needed to collect product-level emissions information while improving the documentation supporting calculations. However, independently verified calculation methodology does not automatically mean every generated product footprint is independently certified. The environmental and reporting benefits will depend on supplier participation, underlying data quality and appropriate verification.
