Renalfa IPP has completed the repowering and hybridisation of its Devnya PV plant in Northeastern Bulgaria, expanding the solar park from its original 5 MWp nominal capacity, operational since 2011, to an installed capacity of 65 MWp. The plant has been hybridised with a co-located battery energy storage system of 60 MW/165 MWh, with Solarpro Bulgaria acting as project manager and EPC contractor.
The project follows Renalfa IPP's broader strategy of repowering and hybridising existing generating assets to maximise available grid connections by co-locating battery storage with solar PV, optimising production profiles and enabling the sale of green baseload products. In November 2025, the company completed a comparable repowering of its Kaolinovo PV park in Northeast Bulgaria, expanding it from 10 MWp to 60 MWp and hybridising it with a 33 MW/110 MWh battery storage system.
