US electric vehicle and industrial technology company Harbinger has raised $240 million in Series D funding, co-led by Tiger Global, Capricorn's Technology Impact Fund and Ridgeline. Announced on 5 November 2026, the investment will support the expansion of Harbinger's electric commercial vehicle manufacturing and its entry into energy storage, power generation, autonomous systems and defence applications. The round brings the company's total funding since 2021 to more than $650 million.
The financing attracted participation from Fidelity Management & Research Company, Squarepoint Capital, Xantium, Greycroft, Maniv, PanaceaVC, ArcTern Ventures and Leitmotif, among others. Strategic investors included FedEx, THOR Industries through TechNexus, and data centre investor BuildGroup. Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley served as placement agents for the transaction, although Harbinger did not disclose its valuation or the ownership stakes investors acquired.

Harbinger plans to use the new capital to increase production of its medium-duty electric vehicle platforms while expanding its electrification technology into additional industrial markets. The company develops electric and hybrid vehicle platforms, battery and drivetrain systems, stationary energy storage and auxiliary power solutions. Its vertically integrated manufacturing approach allows it to apply technologies originally developed for commercial transportation to energy infrastructure and other applications.
The funding follows a major commercial order from FedEx for 2,000 all-electric Harbinger trucks, valued at more than $300 million. The vehicles are planned for delivery by the end of 2027 for deployment across the United States and Canada. FedEx has also strengthened its relationship with Harbinger by appointing Paul Melander, Senior Vice President of Safety and Transportation, to the company's Board of Directors.
John Harris, Co-founder and CEO of Harbinger, said, "Electrification is at the core of everything we do, and increasingly, electrification is at the core of industry, defense, mobility, and AI." Griffin Schroeder, Partner at Tiger Global, said, "We led this financing because we see tremendous value in bringing Harbinger’s technical expertise and manufacturing capabilities to new markets." The investment will support Harbinger's next phase of manufacturing expansion as it broadens its operations beyond electric commercial vehicles.
