Nordea Asset Management has launched three new sustainable equity funds under its BetaPlus range, which it says has reached €100 billion in assets under management. The new funds cover eurozone equities, European small caps and US small caps, extending a systematic investment platform the firm describes as one of Europe's leading Enhanced Indexing offerings.
BetaPlus strategies aim to combine the diversification and cost control typical of index-tracking management with a targeted outperformance objective, operating within a framework of limited active risk relative to their benchmarks. The range is offered in both traditional and sustainable versions, with the sustainable versions incorporating enhanced ESG criteria and drawing in particular on Paris-Aligned Benchmarks, indices constructed to track a decarbonisation trajectory consistent with the Paris Agreement's climate goals.

The three new funds, the BetaPlus Enhanced Euroland Sustainable Equity Fund, the BetaPlus Enhanced European Sustainable Small Cap Equity Fund and the BetaPlus Enhanced US Sustainable Small Cap Equity Fund, are managed by the Diversified Equity team within Nordea's Multi Assets boutique, which the firm says draws on more than 20 years of experience in multifactor quantitative investing. Like other strategies in the sustainable BetaPlus lineup, the new funds target outperformance against traditional benchmark indices while applying the platform's enhanced sustainability criteria.
The BetaPlus range now comprises more than 20 strategies available to asset allocators, spanning varying levels of sustainability integration across multiple geographic regions and market capitalisation segments. The lineup also includes the BetaPlus Enhanced US Corporate Bond Fund, which the firm describes as its first systematic fixed-income management solution, extending the platform's approach beyond equities into fixed income for the first time.
