EcoVadis and Novata Partner to Integrate Verified Supplier Carbon Data

EcoVadis and Novata have announced a partnership to embed EcoVadis's verified supplier carbon metrics directly into Novata's sustainability management platform, part of EcoVadis's broader effort to expand its Carbon Data Network, an ecosystem linking primary emissions data with carbon accounting and sustainability platforms to support Scope 3 reporting. The integration is intended to let corporate and investment clients using both platforms route supplier-level primary emissions data into Novata's carbon accounting tools without manual data transfer.

Through the integration, EcoVadis functions as the data source, providing supplier-level carbon metrics and carbon maturity analytics drawn from its existing supply chain assessment work, while Novata's carbon accounting solution ingests that data to calculate Scope 3.1 footprints broken down by location and activity type. The stated aim is to let mutual users move beyond sector-average emissions estimates toward calculations based on supplier-specific primary data, though the companies did not disclose a customer count, transaction volume, or measured accuracy improvement associated with the integration.

The partnership also draws on EcoVadis's recently published Carbon Data Reliability Level Framework, a methodology the company describes as intended to standardise how carbon data quality is assessed across the industry. Novata becomes the latest platform to join the Carbon Data Network, following other integrations EcoVadis has built as part of the same initiative.

Dexter Galvin, EcoVadis's senior vice president of climate, said the integration was intended to make it easier for corporations and financial institutions to shift from spend-based emissions estimates to precise primary data. Conor O'Laoire, Novata's head of global partnerships, said the partnership allows the company to securely ingest verified primary carbon metrics to give clients more precise visibility into their supply chains.
