Tokyo Gas Engineering Solutions (TGES) and IX Renewables have signed a basic agreement to collaborate on offshore wind power projects, combining international offshore wind expertise with local engineering capabilities and regulatory knowledge in Japan. The partnership is designed to strengthen the companies’ ability to support developers and investors as Japan expands its offshore wind capacity.
The agreement brings together IX Renewables’ experience in offshore wind consulting with TGES’s long track record in large-scale energy infrastructure engineering. Both companies aim to jointly pursue contracts related to engineering services and project management across offshore wind developments.
Engineering and Project Management Collaboration
Under the partnership, the two companies will cooperate across several areas of offshore wind project development. These include engineering, procurement, construction and installation management, as well as broader engineering advisory and project coordination services.
The collaboration will also involve financial advisory support and consulting related to operations and maintenance strategies for offshore wind assets. By integrating these capabilities, the companies intend to offer developers and investors a comprehensive service platform covering technical planning, project delivery and long-term asset management.
The partnership is expected to focus on supporting offshore wind operators seeking to develop projects within Japan’s emerging offshore wind market.

Supporting Japan’s Offshore Wind Expansion
Japan has identified offshore wind power as an important component of its long-term decarbonization strategy. The country has limited land availability for large-scale renewable energy projects, making offshore wind a key option for expanding low-carbon electricity generation.
As offshore wind capacity grows, developers increasingly require integrated engineering and advisory services that combine international project experience with knowledge of local regulatory frameworks and infrastructure conditions.
Through their partnership, TGES and IX Renewables aim to support project developers and investors by providing engineering expertise, regulatory guidance and project management services tailored to Japan’s offshore wind market.
The collaboration reflects broader efforts within the energy sector to strengthen technical and financial capabilities supporting offshore wind development as countries accelerate the transition toward lower-carbon energy systems.
