Liverpool FC and 1PointFive Expand Carbon Capture Merchandise Partnership

Liverpool FC and 1PointFive Expand Carbon Capture Merchandise Partnership

Liverpool FC and 1PointFive, a US-based direct air capture and carbon utilisation company, have expanded their collaboration with a new range of club products, including an updated Mighty Red teddy and a new addition, Red Ted. The partnership builds on a commemorative jersey launched last year marking the 20th anniversary of the "Miracle of Istanbul."

As part of the collaboration, the carbon footprint of both new products will be addressed through 1PointFive's direct air capture technology, removing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere equal to the amount generated from manufacturing the products up to the point of sale. The initiative forms part of Liverpool FC's broader sustainability programme, The Red Way, and reflects the club's expanding retail portfolio across apparel, collectables, gifts and lifestyle products.

Liverpool FC Senior Vice-President of Merchandising Lee Dwerryhouse said the partnership allows the club "to create products that resonate with fans, strengthen their connection with LFC and support our wider commitment to exploring innovative and more sustainable retail opportunities." 1PointFive President and General Manager Anthony Cottone said the collaboration "showcases how integrating direct air capture solutions can deliver differentiated, best-selling product offerings while advancing sustainability goals in a measurable and verifiable way."
