India has launched its largest wind energy initiative, designed to supply power to 3 million households. This groundbreaking 1,166-megawatt (MW) project is a joint effort between NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) and Suzlon Group, marking a major stride in the nation's renewable energy drive.
The project will feature 370 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a rated capacity of 3.15 MW each, to be set up across three locations in Gujarat, according to Suzlon Energy Ltd. This initiative represents the first large-scale wind project undertaken by a government-owned company, highlighting India's dedication to expanding its wind energy capacity.
This collaboration not only accelerates India's progress toward clean energy targets but also sets a new benchmark for future government-led renewable energy initiatives.
