EcoVadis, the global leader in business sustainability ratings and intelligence solutions, has unveiled Worker Voice Connect, a new digital grievance and communication platform designed to give supply chain workers a direct and anonymous channel to report labor and human rights concerns. The platform marks a major evolution in how companies identify, monitor, and address workplace issues across their global value chains.
Empowering Workers to Speak Up Across Global Supply Chains
Traditional grievance mechanisms have often failed to reach the workers most vulnerable to exploitation those embedded deep within supplier networks. Many of these tools focus on compliance or corruption reporting and are rarely accessible to factory or contract workers, who may be unaware of such systems or fear retaliation. EcoVadis’ Worker Voice Connect directly addresses these limitations. The platform allows workers at any level of the supply chain to anonymously report concerns related to working conditions, discrimination, harassment, or human rights violations.
“Grievance and whistleblower channels have been around for decades, but often only for direct employees. They rarely reach workers in the supply chain, leaving organizations blind to potential risks and limiting workers’ access to remedy,” said Pierre-François Thaler, Co-CEO and Co-founder of EcoVadis.
The new system provides a continuous feedback loop, enabling open dialogue between workers, suppliers, and buyers while ensuring that confidentiality and accessibility remain central to the process.
Human-Centered Design Meets Digital Accessibility
EcoVadis designed Worker Voice Connect to ensure ease of access and multilingual inclusivity. Workers can submit reports and communicate with company representatives through several channels including WhatsApp, QR codes, and web browsers without requiring smartphones, specialized apps, or corporate credentials. The platform currently supports 20 languages, making it one of the most linguistically accessible human rights tools of its kind. It also features two-way anonymous communication, allowing workers to safely engage in follow-up discussions or clarifications with company representatives, while preserving anonymity. For suppliers and buying companies, Worker Voice Connect provides centralized dashboards that track case data, monitor response rates, and evaluate program effectiveness. These dashboards also facilitate data sharing across company networks, supporting alignment with emerging due diligence regulations and international labor standards such as the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) and ILO conventions.
Building on the EcoVadis–Ulula Partnership
The new tool expands on EcoVadis’ earlier Worker Voice initiative, developed in partnership with Ulula, a human rights analytics company that EcoVadis fully acquired in September 2024. The integration combines Ulula’s expertise in worker engagement technology with EcoVadis’ extensive sustainability performance network spanning over 130,000 rated companies worldwide. Through this combined framework, EcoVadis aims to deliver a scalable, data-driven approach to social sustainability, enabling companies to detect early warning signs of human rights violations and measure the impact of corrective actions in real time.
“We’re experiencing increased global demand for labor and human rights solutions as new due diligence regulations and international labor standards increase scrutiny on global enterprises,” said Thaler. “Worker rights are an urgent ethical, financial, and regulatory matter, and companies that fail to act will face real financial, reputational, and legal consequences.”

A New Era of Corporate Due Diligence and Accountability
With human rights laws tightening across Europe, North America, and Asia, Worker Voice Connect positions EcoVadis as a critical partner for multinational corporations navigating complex ESG and social compliance obligations. The system complements existing EcoVadis sustainability ratings, enabling clients to integrate social impact monitoring into their broader ESG management systems. It also supports real-time transparency, allowing companies to identify hotspots, implement targeted interventions, and share verified progress with regulators, investors, and consumers. Analysts view the launch as a pivotal development in the digitalization of corporate human rights due diligence, bridging the gap between top-down reporting frameworks and on-the-ground realities. As global supply chains face mounting pressure to prove ethical operations, EcoVadis’ Worker Voice Connect offers a clear signal: the future of responsible business lies in listening to workers and turning their voices into actionable change.
