SAMS
SAMS SAMS is a software system for the simulation of the dispersion of air pollutants during and after an accidental release at: Stationary (fixed installations) sources Mobile sources (e.g. transportation) It calculates the airborne concentrations of the released substance in an area of approx. 30 km x 30 km, considering meteorological conditions. Results are displayed as isolines and/or grid areas of concentration. Helps identify vulnerable areas and enables timely, targeted actions. Fulfills the requirements of VDI 3783 Part 4 guideline. Available in German and English. Run Process During a run, SAMS calculates every 2 minutes: Concentration distribution at the actual time Expected concentration distribution one hour in the future SAMS Basic Version (SAMS-Global) Includes the following modules: Gaussian cloud model based on guideline VDI 3945 Sheet 1 (see: www.vdi.de ) Mesoscale diagnostic complex terrain wind field model Release rate model for gases, liquids, and liquid gases with pool evaporation Substance and scenario database Extension Modules Currently available extension modules: Extrapolation of measured meteorological data (2 to 10 minutes average of wind speed, wind velocity, turbulence, and atmospheric stability) at one or several meteorological stations Dispersion calculation in built-up areas based on pre-calculated MISKAM wind fields Integration of nocturnal drainage flow fields Database for measured concentrations Source term calculation module including measuring location proposal Facility database for managing predefined facilities or facility parts Warning at predefined locations Hardware Requirements No special hardware requirements needed for SAMS-Global Suitable processors: e.g. Intel® Core i5 or better Screen size: minimum 19 inches Requirements: Current Windows operating system and Internet access
WinMISKAM
MISKAM MISKAM is a 3-dimensional non-hydrostatic climate, flow and dispersion model for the microscale prediction of flow and concentration fields. It covers the vicinity of single buildings, as well as streets with adjacent buildings and city quarters. Developed by Dr. J. Eichhorn, Institute of Atmospheric Physics, University of Mainz. The model has been continuously refined and validated on the basis of a large variety of field measurements. Buildings are introduced explicitly within the grid for the calculation, not just as increased roughness but by their occupation of the grid cells → ensuring correct details of the flow near buildings. Physical basis: Full 3-dimensional equations of motion Advection-dispersion equation for substances of neutral density MISKAM version 6.42: Developed by Dr. Eichhorn in cooperation with Dr. Flassak Extensively validated according to VDI-RL 3783 Bl. 9 Available since November 2021 WinMISKAM Program system with intuitive, layer-based graphical user interface (German & English) Always contains the latest MISKAM version (currently 6.42) Functions: Creation & editing of configuration file, control file Graphical output of results (screen & printer) Load background maps (JPG, BMP, TIF, PNG, or WMS services such as OpenStreetMap) Interactive creation of MISKAM configuration files Edit non-equidistant 3D grid easily with mouse Create building cadastres directly on maps with mouse or import from shape format Calculate annual mean value, percentile value & threshold value exceedance probability from MISKAM result files (for individual flow directions & pre-pollution values) NO-NO2 conversion: According to Romberg et al. (1996), or Simplified chemistry model (Duering et al., 2011), which considers directly emitted NO2 from traffic vehicles PROKAS_E add-on module available for calculating traffic-related emissions Advanced visualization with ParaView interface Runs on all current Windows systems WinMISKAM – Supplementary Modules For the basic version of WinMISKAM, the following supplementary modules are offered: Extended Graphics Line Sources PROKAS_E (Emissions) Interface MISKAM wind and turbulence fields for AUSTAL Flow Through Vegetation Vertical Jet

WinAUSTAL Pro
WinAUSTAL is a user-friendly interface for creating and visualizing the AUSTAL input file and for graphically displaying the calculation results. WinAUSTAL enables the user to quickly and conveniently analyze plants and projects with regard to the dispersion of air pollutants in accordance with the amended TA Luft. The new version of the Technical Instructions on Air Quality Control (TA Luft), the central set of regulations for air pollution control with regard to plants requiring approval under immission control law in Germany, comes into force on December 1, 2021. It was published in issue no. 48 - 54 of the Joint Ministerial Gazette on September 14, 2021. Lagrangian dispersion models such as AUSTAL are not subject to the limitations of Gaussian dispersion models. Complex topographies, buildings and spatially inhomogeneous, temporally variable wind and turbulence fields, i.e. realistic conditions, can be handled with Lagrangian dispersion models. The AUSTAL program was developed by Ingenieurbüro Janicke on behalf of the Federal Environment Agency in Berlin. AUSTAL is freely available at www.umweltbundesamt.de.
WinSTACC
Guideline VDI 3781 Part 4 Since July 2017, the guideline VDI 3781 Part 4 “Environmental meteorology - Discharge conditions for exhaust gases - Small and medium combustion systems and other installations” has been published. With this guideline for chimney height determination, the requirements of immission control for undisturbed exhaust gas discharge with the free air flow and for sufficient dilution of the exhaust gases can be fulfilled. The guideline contains the specifications for calculating the required minimum height of chimneys used to discharge emissions from: Combustion plants Installations releasing organic solvents (e.g. installations not requiring a permit within the scope of the 31st BImSchV) Installations emitting other pollutants Small and medium-sized combustion plants according to the 1st BImSchV Since the chairman of this VDI working group is from our company, it is thus guaranteed that the software implementation of this guideline was carried out completely in the sense of this guideline. If you do not wish to purchase the software implementation of the guideline VDI 3781 Part 4 (WinSTACC software), we also offer the determination of the minimum height of the outlets of exhaust gas discharge systems according to guideline VDI 3781 Part 4 as a service. WinSTACC – Software Implementation of VDI 3781 Part 4 WinSTACC is a user-friendly software implementing the VDI guideline 3781 Part 4. Essential Features: Determination of required chimney height Calculation of several alternative positions of chimneys to determine the lowest chimney height Calculation of the area of influence of the chimney to be assessed Determination of the reference level (highest upper edge of supply air openings or of windows and doors in the area of influence of the chimney) Project-related, intuitive, layer-based user interface Loading of background maps (JPG, BMP, TIF, PNG) or OpenStreetMap maps Easy digitization of buildings, building structures and chimney positions Visualization of building data in 2D and 3D Visualization of the follow-up zones relevant for the calculation of the chimney height Creation of a protocol Export of the visualizations (2D and 3D) as a graphic file (BMP, JPG, PNG) Loading and saving of all relevant settings in a project file
