Wildfarmed and Lloyds Launch Fund to Scale UK Regenerative Farming

Wildfarmed and Lloyds Launch Fund to Scale UK Regenerative Farming

Wildfarmed has launched a new investment fund in partnership with Lloyds Banking Group to accelerate the adoption of regenerative agriculture across the UK. Called the Food & Nature Resilience Fund, it is designed to provide financial support that helps more farmers transition to regenerative practices, with the aim of expanding the amount of land managed using methods that improve soil health, biodiversity and long-term resilience. The initiative targets the bakery supply chain, where demand for grain grown with stronger environmental credentials has been rising.

The fund is built to address a specific barrier. For many farmers, moving away from conventional methods requires significant upfront investment and carries financial uncertainty during the transition period, when yields and returns can be unpredictable. By providing access to capital that rewards environmental improvements alongside agricultural productivity, the fund is intended to remove some of that risk and make the switch more viable.

Regenerative agriculture has become a growing focus for the bakery sector as manufacturers, retailers and consumers seek ingredients with better environmental credentials. Wheat grown using regenerative methods is already appearing in a widening range of bakery products, and Wildfarmed argues that unlocking greater investment is essential if the approach is to move from a niche model to one capable of supplying larger volumes of flour and grain to the food industry.

The partnership combines Lloyds' financial expertise with Wildfarmed's agricultural knowledge, with the goal of encouraging more growers to adopt practices such as reduced cultivation, increased crop diversity and improved soil management. The initiative reflects a wider recognition that the resilience of food production depends on healthier soils and farming systems better able to cope with increasingly unpredictable weather.

Wildfarmed has previously worked with a network of farmers and food businesses to show that regenerative wheat can supply commercial bakery operations while delivering measurable environmental benefits. The company believes that broader industry collaboration, backed by targeted financial investment, will be central to expanding regenerative agriculture across the UK's arable sector and securing future supplies of sustainably grown wheat.
