Wattch, a provider of cloud-based energy monitoring and control solutions, has been selected by Encore Renewable Energy to support asset management across its expanding portfolio of community solar and battery storage projects in the northeastern United States. Announced on 2 November 2026, the agreement covers transitioning 31.5 MWdc of operational solar capacity and 7 MWac/28 MWh of battery storage across nine sites to Wattch's platform. The system will serve as the data acquisition, monitoring and control infrastructure for Encore's renewable energy assets.
The partnership will expand to include 16 additional projects, bringing another 79.4 MWdc of solar capacity and 5 MW/20 MWh of battery storage onto the platform. Wattch will provide remote diagnostics and operational monitoring to help Encore identify energy and revenue losses across its assets. The technology will support corrective and preventive operations and maintenance activities, allowing engineering teams to prioritize equipment issues and improve management across solar, solar-plus-storage and standalone battery systems.

Encore migrated its existing operating sites from another monitoring provider to Wattch, requiring minimal additional hardware investment. The ability to manage different renewable energy technologies through a single platform was a key factor in the selection. Doug MacDonald, Vice President of Engineering at Encore Renewable Energy, said, "Having a platform that supports all our assets means we can bring new projects online with confidence that our monitoring and controls will scale with us."
Alex Nussey, Co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Wattch, highlighted the importance of identifying operational inefficiencies as renewable energy portfolios expand. "Having clear visibility into where energy and revenue are being lost is essential," he said. The agreement will support Encore's efforts to improve operational visibility and asset performance as new projects enter its portfolio. While the initial migration is complete, the additional 16 projects have yet to be incorporated into the platform, and the companies have not disclosed quantified efficiency gains or energy production improvements.
