Una, an AI character, will share stories of the Pacific Green Transformation Project through videos, live chats, and holographic appearances. The project tackles energy poverty in Pacific Island nations, where, for example, 71% of Vanuatu’s 280,000 people lack electricity, and Papua New Guinea aims to electrify 70% of its population by 2030. Una’s mission, as she says, is to “bring Pacific Island voices to the world, inspiring people to tap into renewable energy”. The project itself is practical and ambitious:

Papua New Guinea: Building micro solar farms, like a 1 MW plant in Bougainville, and supporting micro-grid regulations.
Samoa: Rolling out 53 electric vehicles, setting up EV charging stations, and crafting prosumer regulations.
Timor-Leste: Solarizing health centers, schools, and 1,000 off-grid households, plus renewable energy laws.
Vanuatu: Installing pico-hydro stations on Pentecost Island to power 700 households, aiming for 100% renewable energy by 2030.
