Seedling Acquires Carbon Accounting Firm Go Climate Positive

Seedling Acquires Carbon Accounting Firm Go Climate Positive

UK-based carbon management platform Seedling has acquired fellow carbon accounting company Go Climate Positive (GCP), expanding its services for growing and mid-market businesses. Announced on 5 November 2026, the acquisition was completed on 31 October, and GCP's clients will transition to Seedling's carbon management platform over the coming weeks. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

The acquisition strengthens Seedling's position in the carbon accounting market, where businesses increasingly require emissions measurement, reporting and reduction support. The Bath-based company, which holds B Corp certification, combines carbon accounting software with specialist advisory services. Seedling currently supports more than 500 businesses with measuring, managing and reporting their greenhouse gas emissions.

Under the agreement, GCP's clients will receive support from a dedicated Seedling carbon specialist throughout the transition. GCP's founders, Eoin McQuone and Stephanie Lee, will remain involved during the handover to maintain service continuity and ensure ongoing projects are completed without disruption. The arrangement will also give existing GCP customers access to Seedling's software platform and technical expertise for longer-term emissions management.

Blair Spowart, Seedling Co-founder, described the acquisition as an important step in the company's expansion. "For Seedling, it’s a significant step in our growth and strengthens our ability to support businesses as demand for credible carbon data keeps rising." Eoin McQuone, Co-founder of Go Climate Positive, said the companies share a similar approach to combining technology with personalized carbon accounting support.

Following the acquisition, GCP's founders will focus on consultancy and training services for larger enterprises, while Seedling will support its existing carbon accounting customers. The transaction expands Seedling's client base and strengthens its capacity to provide carbon measurement and reporting services to businesses in the UK and internationally.
