At the World Governments Summit in Dubai, Kenya outlined a technology-led strategy to steer the future of its tourism sector toward sustainability, resilience, and inclusivity. Speaking at the summit on February 5, Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, Rebecca Miano, said the government intends to harness artificial intelligence and smart data systems to modernize tourism planning while ensuring that communities and ecosystems benefit directly from growth.

The approach reflects a broader shift in global travel toward purpose-led tourism, where environmental protection, cultural preservation, and local economic participation are becoming central to destination competitiveness.
