In a renewed show of solidarity, the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) have stepped up humanitarian operations in the Gaza Strip, carrying out a new round of airdrops to support the region’s besieged civilian population. On August 17, Royal Jordanian Air Force aircraft completed an aerial aid mission delivering 82 tons of urgently needed food and supplies.
This latest effort brings the total number of aerial aid operations to 155 since the relaunch of air missions on July 27. The mission also saw collaboration with aircraft from Germany, the United Arab Emirates, Belgium, France, Italy, and Singapore, underlining the international scope of the operation.
A Coordinated Global Relief Campaign
Jordan’s role in the Gaza relief effort is not limited to airdrops. Since the beginning of the renewed humanitarian campaign, the country has participated in 344 joint missions with partner nations. These combined efforts have delivered approximately 770 tons of aid by air, reinforcing the country’s ongoing commitment to alleviate civilian suffering in the conflict zone.

On the ground, the Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO) dispatched its 190th land convoy to Gaza. The convoy included 43 trucks filled with food parcels, coordinated with the Jordanian Armed Forces to ensure safe passage through contested routes.
Calls for International Guarantees and Safe Passage
Despite the growing scale of aid operations, significant logistical challenges remain. JHCO Secretary-General Hussein Shibli emphasized the continued difficulties in delivering humanitarian assistance due to attacks on convoys and restrictions at border crossings. He urged the international community to step in and guarantee the safety of humanitarian routes and workers, calling it a matter of life and dignity for Gaza’s civilians.
According to Shibli, Jordan is determined to continue its aerial aid operations in coordination with both regional allies and international partners, with a focus on reaching families in areas cut off by the ongoing crisis.
“Restoring Hope” for War Victims
Another major element of Jordan’s humanitarian campaign is the “Restoring Hope” initiative. Launched in September 2024 under royal directives, the program aims to provide prosthetic limbs and rehabilitation to civilians who have suffered amputations due to the conflict.
The initiative is carried out in partnership with the Royal Medical Services and JHCO, and it is part of a broader effort to offer long-term support to those who have endured life-altering injuries in war zones.
A Commitment to Ongoing Support
Jordan’s multifaceted response highlights the growing role of coordinated regional and international aid in addressing one of the most pressing humanitarian crises in the Middle East. Through aerial deliveries, ground convoys, and medical rehabilitation, Jordan continues to position itself as a central actor in providing relief and restoring dignity to those affected by the Gaza conflict.
