HCLTech has been named to TIME's World's Most Sustainable Companies 2026 list for the second consecutive year, ranking among the top five global professional services companies and the highest-ranked India-headquartered company in the category. The ranking, compiled by TIME with Statista, assesses more than 5,800 global companies across more than 20 sustainability indicators spanning commitments and ratings, reporting transparency, and environmental and social stewardship.
The recognition is anchored to specific performance figures from the company's fiscal year 2026. HCLTech replenished 51 times more water than it consumed during the year, a water leadership benchmark that reflects investment in water conservation and replenishment projects well beyond the company's own operational water footprint. The company also retained zero waste-to-landfill platinum certification across all its owned facilities, indicating virtually all waste generated at company-owned sites is diverted from landfill disposal through recycling, reuse or other recovery methods.

On climate specifically, HCLTech said it achieved its 2030 Science Based Targets initiative-validated emissions target four years ahead of schedule, a notable acceleration that mirrors a pattern seen elsewhere in this batch among companies outperforming their own science-based commitments well before the original deadline. Reaching a validated 2030 target in 2026 suggests the company's emissions reduction measures, whether through renewable energy procurement, operational efficiency or other decarbonisation levers, have delivered faster results than originally modelled when the target was first set.
