Bain & Company has appointed Nicolas Willemot as Global Head of its Consumer Products practice, effective January 2026. The appointment signals the firm’s focus on supporting consumer goods companies as they navigate rapid shifts in technology, customer expectations, and operating models.

Steering Consumer Brands Through Industry Disruption

In his new role, Willemot will oversee Bain’s global work with consumer products companies, guiding efforts to accelerate growth, scale digital and AI capabilities, and modernize business models. The practice supports clients across food, beverage, personal care, and household products, working at the intersection of strategy, technology, and sustainability.

Laura Miles, Bain’s Chief Client Officer and Global Head of Industries, described Willemot as a trusted client leader with a strong track record across markets and categories. She noted that his experience and perspective would help consumer products clients move faster, scale innovation more effectively, and pursue more sustainable growth paths.

Focus on Technology, Creativity, and Transformation

Willemot said the consumer products sector is entering a pivotal phase, where innovation and technology will define the next stage of growth. He emphasized Bain’s ability to combine deep sector expertise with advanced analytics, AI-driven solutions, and human creativity to help clients lead change rather than react to it.

Under his leadership, the practice will continue advising clients on end-to-end transformations, from growth strategy and portfolio reshaping to operating model redesign and digital adoption.

Experience Across Regions and Categories

Willemot currently serves as Managing Partner of Bain’s Amsterdam and Brussels offices and is a member of the firm’s Consumer Products and Customer practices. Since joining Bain in 2006, he has worked with major consumer products companies across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia Pacific, focusing on growth acceleration and value creation.

He holds a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Ghent University and a master’s degree in general management from Vlerick Business School.

Leadership Transition

Willemot succeeds Richard Webster, who has led Bain’s global Consumer Products practice since 2022. During Webster’s tenure, the practice supported clients through significant disruption, including inflationary pressures, supply chain challenges, and increasing environmental constraints.

The leadership transition reflects Bain’s intent to build on this foundation while positioning its Consumer Products practice to address the next wave of industry change driven by digital transformation, AI adoption, and evolving consumer priorities.
