World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) 2026: Organized by The Energy and Resources Institute (TERI), the 25th edition of the World Sustainable Development Summit will be held from 25–27 February 2026 at the Taj Palace, New Delhi. Marking the Silver Jubilee of TERI’s flagship global platform, WSDS 2026 will convene heads of state, ministers, business leaders, climate negotiators, and civil society to chart pathways for equitable and sustainable growth under the theme “परिवर्तन | Transformations: Vision, Voices, and Values for Sustainable Development.”

Purpose and Objectives

The summit’s purpose is to drive transformative action toward sustainability in a world facing interconnected crises of climate change, biodiversity loss, and inequality. Its objectives include aligning global and national efforts to meet the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals, bridging implementation gaps, and advancing data-driven solutions for resilient development. WSDS 2026 seeks to inspire leadership that combines long-term vision with inclusive values and multi-stakeholder collaboration.

Key Activities

Over three days, the summit will host high-level plenary sessions, ministerial dialogues, and partner-led thematic tracks focused on energy transitions, climate finance, circular economy, and nature-based solutions. The platform will also feature the Sustainable Development Leadership Award (SDLA) ceremony recognizing global champions of sustainability, alongside CEO forums, youth conclaves, and an international expo showcasing green innovations. Through public–private dialogues and Act4Earth sessions, WSDS 2026 will advance concrete policy recommendations and cross-sector partnerships.

Significance

As the world’s longest-running annual conference dedicated to sustainable development, WSDS holds a unique position in shaping India’s global leadership on climate and sustainability. The 2026 edition is particularly significant as it coincides with the mid-decade checkpoint for the SDGs and comes at a time when global progress is off track. By convening diverse voices under the banner of “Transformations,” the summit emphasizes the urgent need for integrated, value-driven solutions that link environment, economy, and equity.

Expected Outcomes
