Event Details

The 4th European Green Aluminium Summit 2026 is a two-day industry conference taking place on 18 to 19 November 2026 in Frankfurt, Germany, with both in-person and online participation available. The summit brings together policymakers, aluminium producers, technology innovators, sustainability experts, investors, manufacturers, and service providers to examine the technologies, regulations, and market strategies shaping Europe’s transition toward a competitive, low-carbon aluminium industry.

Purpose and Objectives

The primary purpose of the summit is to help the aluminium sector respond to Europe’s climate, trade, and industrial competitiveness challenges. The programme focuses on strengthening supply chain resilience, advancing green aluminium production, improving circularity, and supporting compliance with evolving frameworks such as Fit for 55 and the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism. It also aims to encourage collaboration between industry, policy, technology, and finance stakeholders across the aluminium value chain.

Key Activities

The summit includes strategic keynotes, case studies, panel discussions, dedicated roundtables, technical presentations, and structured networking. Agenda topics cover CBAM compliance, clean power integration, next-generation smelting technologies, aluminium scrap recycling, circular economy strategies, carbon capture for smelters, renewable energy power purchase agreements, and high-performance aluminium applications in automotive and aerospace. The event is expected to feature 20+ expert speakers, 150+ attendees, and networking with more than 100 decision-makers from across Europe’s aluminium sector.

Significance

The summit is significant because aluminium plays an important role in mobility, packaging, construction, aerospace, and the wider low-carbon economy, while its production remains highly energy-intensive. By connecting decarbonisation technologies with trade policy, energy security, recycling, and market demand, the event provides a focused setting for addressing both the environmental and commercial pressures affecting Europe’s aluminium industry.

Expected Outcomes

Attendees can expect stronger understanding of European aluminium policy, low-carbon production technologies, energy sourcing strategies, and circular economy opportunities. The summit is designed to help participants identify practical approaches to CBAM compliance, production decarbonisation, supply chain resilience, and market development while building partnerships with producers, technology providers, buyers, investors, and policymakers.
