Marine Renewables Canada 2026 Conference & Exhibition is a three-day national marine energy event taking place from 17 to 19 November 2026 at The Westin Ottawa in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Held under the theme “Powering Canada’s Clean Energy Future,” it brings together industry leaders, policymakers, researchers, Indigenous partners, communities, supply-chain companies, and technology providers working across offshore wind, tidal, wave, and river-current energy. It is positioned as Canada’s only national conference dedicated to these marine renewable energy sectors.
The primary purpose of the conference is to advance Canada’s marine renewable energy sector by strengthening collaboration between industry, government, research, Indigenous communities, and investors. The event is designed to explore how marine renewables can improve energy security, support economic growth, and contribute to the global energy transition. It also aims to accelerate sector development by addressing policy, investment, technology, supply-chain, and partnership requirements across Canada.
The programme includes concurrent conference sessions on policy, markets, and technical research, alongside member-led workshops, an exhibition and trade show, business-to-business meetings, receptions, and networking events. Participants will examine regulatory developments, emerging investment opportunities, technology progress, and the partnerships required to build a competitive Canadian marine renewables industry. The first day includes member-focused workshops and an international roundtable, followed by full conference and exhibition access on 18 and 19 November.
The conference is significant because Canada is moving toward its first offshore wind projects while tidal energy, remote-community deployment, and Indigenous participation are entering new stages of development. Marine Renewables Canada’s Sector Vision 2050 estimates that construction activity associated with the sector could contribute approximately C$12 billion in GDP and support more than 115,000 jobs. By holding the event in Ottawa, the conference also places industry priorities close to federal policymakers and national decision-making.
Attendees can expect stronger connections across Canada’s marine energy ecosystem, greater understanding of policy and market developments, and clearer insight into technologies, projects, and investment opportunities. The conference is intended to support commercial partnerships, supply-chain growth, technical collaboration, and closer engagement between government, industry, researchers, and Indigenous partners working to scale marine renewable energy across Canada.
