Event Details

IEEE Power & Energy Society International Meeting 2027 is a four-day international power and energy conference taking place from 10 to 13 January 2027 at the China National Convention Center in Beijing, China. The second edition of the IEEE PES International Meeting is held under the theme “AI-Empowered Low-Carbon Energy Transition” and brings together researchers, engineers, industry practitioners, system operators, policymakers, and students to exchange research, technical developments, industrial experience, and emerging perspectives in power and energy systems.

Purpose and Objectives

The primary purpose of the meeting is to provide an international forum for advancing research, engineering practice, and collaboration across power and energy systems. The 2027 programme focuses on how artificial intelligence, digital technologies, renewable integration, storage, electrification, and low-carbon energy systems can support secure, reliable, economical, and sustainable power systems.

Key Activities

The conference includes technical paper presentations, panel sessions, tutorials, workshops, and opportunities for international academic and industry exchange. The call for papers covers AI-enabled power system planning and operation, large and foundation models, electricity and carbon markets, grid resilience and cybersecurity, digital twins, renewable integration, energy storage, electrification, hydrogen, multi-energy systems, and carbon management.

You’ll explore:

  • AI applications in power system planning, operation, control and protection
  • Renewable energy integration, storage and electrification
  • Digital twins, data infrastructure and intelligent energy systems
  • Electricity markets, carbon markets and energy policy
  • Grid resilience, reliability, cybersecurity and climate adaptation
  • Low-carbon multi-energy systems, hydrogen and CCUS

Significance

The meeting is significant because it connects advanced power engineering research with the practical requirements of a rapidly changing energy system. Its emphasis on AI and low-carbon transition brings together technology, grid operations, market design, renewable integration, and resilience, while its international scope creates opportunities for collaboration between researchers, industry, utilities, and policymakers.

Expected Outcomes

Participants can expect exposure to emerging research, engineering applications, and technology developments across power and energy systems. The meeting is intended to support technical knowledge exchange, research collaboration, industry connections, and the development of approaches that can improve power system reliability, flexibility, digitalisation, and low-carbon performance.
