Greenbuild International Conference + Expo 2026 will take place from 20 to 23 October 2026 at the Javits Center in New York City, United States. Presented in partnership with the U.S. Green Building Council and produced by Informa Connect, Greenbuild is positioned as the largest annual event for green building professionals worldwide. The event will bring together architects, developers, engineers, facility managers, policymakers, sustainability professionals, product innovators, building owners, and real estate leaders to explore the strategies, technologies, and partnerships advancing sustainable buildings, resilient communities, health, equity, and performance.

Purpose and Objectives

The primary purpose of Greenbuild 2026 is to accelerate progress in sustainable building design, construction, operations, and investment. The 2026 theme, “Invest for Impact,” focuses on investing in new projects, developing sustainable buildings, and retrofitting existing structures. The event is designed to help professionals identify practical approaches for improving resilience, sustainability, health, wellness, and quality of life across buildings, cities, and communities.

Key Activities

Greenbuild 2026 will include educational sessions, interactive workshops, conference programming, an extensive Expo floor, networking events, live education, product showcases, and special evening events. The Expo will highlight sustainable products, services, technologies, and solutions for the green building industry, while the conference programme will support learning across sustainability, resilience, health, wellness, and building performance. The event will also feature the Sustainable Finance & Investing Forum, bringing together building owners and operators, REITs, asset managers, institutional real estate investors, lenders, insurers, and other capital providers connected to sustainable real estate.

Significance

Greenbuild International Conference + Expo 2026 is significant because it convenes the global green building community at a time when buildings are central to decarbonisation, energy efficiency, resilience, affordability, health, and climate adaptation. With more than 10,000 attendees expected and hundreds of exhibitors participating, the event creates a major platform for professionals shaping the future of sustainable real estate, construction, building operations, and urban development. Its partnership with USGBC also strengthens its relevance for LEED practitioners and organizations working toward high-performance, energy-saving, and cost-efficient green buildings.

Expected Outcomes

The event is expected to help participants discover new sustainable building technologies, strengthen professional networks, gain practical education, and identify strategies for delivering healthier, more resilient, and lower-impact buildings. Attendees are likely to leave with clearer insight into green building trends, stronger connections with suppliers and industry partners, and practical tools for applying sustainability, resilience, equity, and performance goals across projects. Based on the official positioning, Greenbuild 2026 is designed to move the green building sector from ambition to implementation by connecting knowledge, capital, products, and professional expertise.
