2025 Sustainable Asia Conference

Sustainable Asia Conference 2025: Hosted by the Singapore University of Social Sciences (SUSS) and its School of Business, the conference will take place on 29–30 October 2025 at the Suntec Singapore Convention & Exhibition Centre. Under the theme “Building a Resilient Asia: Innovating through Infrastructure, People, and Finance,” SAC 2025 is a peer-reviewed academic and industry forum designed to advance sustainability research with real-world impact.

Purpose and Objectives

The conference seeks to address Asia’s most pressing sustainability challenges by connecting academic research with actionable solutions in policy and business. Objectives include fostering interdisciplinary knowledge exchange between academia and industry, showcasing data-driven insights that inform decision-making, and promoting scalable solutions tailored to Asia’s unique climate, social, and economic contexts. It also aims to position higher education institutions as catalysts for a just and inclusive transition across the region.

Key Activities

The two-day program will feature plenary sessions, keynote addresses, and expert panels led by distinguished speakers including Durreen Shahnaz of IIX, Esther An of City Developments Limited, and Prof. Benjamin Horton of City University of Hong Kong. Highlights include dual academic–practitioner peer review presentations, thematic research tracks, poster sessions, and a World Economic Forum Fellows showcase spotlighting emerging sustainability research. The conference will also host a hackathon final focused on breakthrough solutions for Asia’s future, alongside exhibitions featuring industry innovations and upskilling initiatives.

Significance

SAC 2025 is significant as it brings together scholars, policymakers, and business leaders to address the intertwined challenges of rapid urbanization, climate risk, and inclusive development. With Asia home to more than 60% of the world’s population and responsible for over half of global carbon emissions, the conference underscores the region’s central role in shaping global sustainability outcomes.
