Zevero Acquires Sustainability Advisory Firm Inhabit to Expand Decarbonisation Services

UK-based carbon accounting startup Zevero has acquired climate solutions and services provider Inhabit, strengthening its advisory and delivery capabilities as it looks to scale end-to-end sustainability support for organisations.

Founded in 2019, Inhabit provides decarbonisation and net-zero services spanning carbon measurement, reporting, and practical transition planning. The acquisition brings these advisory capabilities directly into Zevero’s platform-led offering, allowing the company to combine software-driven carbon accounting with hands-on sustainability delivery.

Zevero, founded in 2021, helps companies measure emissions, identify reduction opportunities, and meet evolving regulatory requirements. In 2024, it was acquired by Singapore-based climate tech firm LEVELUP, with the combined business continuing under the Zevero brand.

Under the agreement, Zevero will assume responsibility for Inhabit’s existing client portfolio through a phased onboarding process designed to ensure continuity of service. Inhabit’s customers will also gain access to Zevero’s AI-powered carbon accounting platform, including enhanced automation, reporting, and data visualisation tools.

Sam McKay, co-founder and CEO of Inhabit, said the move allows customers to benefit from more advanced digital capabilities while retaining the continuity of the existing advisory team. George Wade, Chief Commercial Officer at Zevero, noted that the acquisition reflects a shared focus on practical, high-quality decarbonisation delivery.

The deal highlights a broader trend in climate tech, where carbon accounting platforms are increasingly integrating advisory services to offer companies a more comprehensive pathway from measurement to action.
