Xpansiv Secures Verdane-Led Capital Raise to Fund Acquisition Strategy

Xpansiv, described as the leading infrastructure provider for global energy transition markets, has announced a strategic partnership with European growth investment firm Verdane, which is leading a major capital raise to support Xpansiv's continued acquisition strategy, product expansion, and entry into new asset classes and geographies. Xpansiv provides the registries, marketplaces and data underpinning global energy and environmental commodity markets, processing approximately one billion transactions annually.

 

The company's proprietary registries support more than 320 GW of renewable generation capacity across more than 60 countries, representing approximately 4 percent of total global electricity generation and 7 percent of renewable energy generation. Approximately 28 percent of renewable energy certificates issued globally in 2025 are managed on Xpansiv's registry network.

Verdane Principal Melanie Campbell said "Xpansiv operates the market infrastructure for the global energy transition, and that position strengthens as reporting and compliance obligations widen," adding that "infrastructure of this kind takes years to build, and no one else has assembled it end to end." Xpansiv CEO John Melby said the partnership "enables us to move faster on acquiring next-generation solutions to complement our internal innovation." The investment builds on a sustained period of acquisition activity, with Xpansiv having acquired APX, Evolution Markets and Evident over the past four years, and is designed to extend that strategy as the infrastructure layer serving these markets consolidates.
