TROOPS has signed a merger agreement with EFFORCE Group, combining the companies’ digital asset infrastructure, regulatory capabilities and market access across a broader technology platform. The transaction expands TROOPS beyond conventional cryptocurrency-related activities and could open the way for future participation in sustainability-linked digital markets, including carbon credits and green certificates.
EFFORCE, co-founded by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, brings blockchain infrastructure and experience across digital assets and sustainability-focused initiatives. Under the merger, TROOPS will gain access to EFFORCE’s frameworks and licensing capabilities, with the combined group planning to explore opportunities across digital assets, financial services and related technology-driven business models.

"This merger represents a significant milestone for TROOPS as we continue to expand our digital asset infrastructure and diversified business platform," said Damian Thurnheer, President and CEO of TROOPS. "The combination of EFFORCE's technology, regulatory capabilities, and industry expertise with TROOPS' existing operations creates new opportunities for growth, innovation, and value creation."
Sergio Carloni, CEO of EFFORCE Group, said: "The combination of EFFORCE's licensing framework, digital asset expertise, and sustainability-focused initiatives with TROOPS' market presence creates a strong foundation for future development across multiple business verticals." The companies have not yet announced a dedicated carbon credit or green certificate trading platform, launch date or transaction targets, so the sustainability opportunity remains at an exploratory stage.
