Standard Chartered has launched Supply Net Zero, a platform designed to help the bank's smaller suppliers measure, manage and reduce their carbon footprint, according to Group Chief Operating Officer Tanuj Kapilashrami. The platform provides tools, resources and guidance intended to help suppliers navigate the early stages of decarbonisation, including understanding emissions sources and identifying appropriate reduction actions.
Kapilashrami said the launch comes "at an important point" in the bank's own sustainability journey, noting supplier emissions intensity decreased by 6 percent over the past year, which she said demonstrates "that business growth and environmental progress can go hand in hand." For suppliers not yet pursuing their own decarbonisation efforts, the platform is intended to support collaboration and best-practice sharing to accelerate emissions reduction across Standard Chartered's supply chain.

Kapilashrami framed the initiative around the bank's broader positioning as a "super-connector," stating "meaningful progress happens through partnership" and that bringing together expertise, tools and networks can "turn individual efforts into collective momentum across our supply chain." Suppliers interested in participating can contact Standard Chartered's supply chain sustainability team directly to sign up.
