Earth intelligence platform SkyFi has integrated British satellite technology company SatVu into its platform, giving customers access to high-resolution thermal satellite imagery for industrial monitoring, environmental analysis, and climate resilience applications. Announced on 21 October 2026, the integration lets users search existing thermal imagery and request new satellite captures from SatVu's HotSat constellation through SkyFi's web platform, mobile app, API, and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integration.
SatVu's satellites capture mid-wave infrared (MWIR) imagery at 3.5 meters spatial resolution, day and night. According to the company, the technology provides temperature measurements with an accuracy of 2 Kelvin and precision of 0.2 Kelvin, enabling analysts to examine heat signatures from individual industrial assets. Applications include monitoring gas flaring, identifying operating equipment at power plants and refineries, detecting cooling-water discharges and assessing industrial activity. The imagery can also support urban heat mapping and wildfire monitoring, providing information on fire-front locations and movement.

Luke Fischer, Chief Executive Officer of SkyFi, said, "SatVu captures thermal data at a resolution fine enough to see individual industrial assets." The integration lets customers combine thermal intelligence with optical, synthetic aperture radar (SAR), and other Earth observation datasets through a single ordering platform. Users can purchase archived imagery from HotSat-1 and HotSat-2 or request new captures using HotSat-2. Individual scenes cover approximately 16 square kilometers, allowing monitoring of specific industrial facilities, infrastructure sites, and environmentally sensitive locations.
The partnership coincides with the expansion of SatVu's satellite constellation. HotSat-2 began commercial operations in June 2026, while HotSat-3 was launched aboard SpaceX's Transporter-18 mission on 1 October 2026. Once commissioned, HotSat-3 is expected to double SatVu's collection capacity, with tasking through SkyFi anticipated in early 2027. Anthony Baker, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder of SatVu, said the integration would give commercial and government users greater access to thermal intelligence alongside existing satellite datasets. SatVu's imagery is already available through SkyFi with published pricing and no requirement for long-term contracts, expanding access to satellite-based environmental and industrial monitoring.
