SGS launches services under its IMPACT NOW program to aid companies in complying with the EU’s expanded CSRD and improving ESG reporting accuracy and assurance.
SGS, a global leader in testing, inspection, and certification, has launched a new suite of services to support companies in complying with the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and enhancing ESG reporting. The services are part of SGS' broader sustainability program, IMPACT NOW, aimed at improving corporate sustainability practices.
The CSRD significantly broadens the EU’s sustainability reporting scope, increasing the number of companies required to disclose their sustainability impacts from 12,000 to over 50,000. These disclosures, guided by the European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), include detailed requirements on environmental, social, and governance-related impacts and risks.
SGS' offerings include CSRD Pre-Assurance, ESG Disclosures & Sustainability Report Assurance, and ESG KPI Verification & Assurance.
The CSRD Pre-Assurance service offers companies a “dry run” to identify gaps in their reporting. This service includes gap analysis, feedback on aligning ESG data with ESRS requirements, a review of reporting structures, and a pre-assurance report to enhance compliance readiness.
The ESG Disclosures & Sustainability Report Assurance service provides independent verification of publicly disclosed ESG data. By ensuring data accuracy and alignment with reporting standards, this service strengthens the credibility of corporate sustainability reporting.
The ESG KPI Verification & Assurance service focuses on validating ESG metrics and targets. This enables businesses to improve investor and stakeholder confidence, enhance risk assessments, and support sustainable finance initiatives.
Through these services, SGS aims to address key regulatory and stakeholder expectations.
