Quinbrook Infrastructure Partners, a global investment manager specializing in energy transition infrastructure, has announced the appointment of Hilkka Komulainen as its new Global Head of Sustainability and Impact, alongside several key leadership hires across the US, UK, and Europe.
Effective November 25, Komulainen will oversee Quinbrook’s sustainability and impact strategies across its global operations. She succeeds Anne Foster in the role and will join the Quinbrook Investment Committee. Komulainen brings extensive experience, having previously led responsible investment teams at Aegon UK and Inter Fund Management, and served at organizations such as the United Nations and the Principles for Responsible Investment.
David Scaysbrook, Quinbrook’s Co-Founder and Managing Partner, highlighted the significance of the appointment:
“I have known Hilkka for over 10 years from her time at the UNPRI. Her extensive experience in ESG, sustainability, and impact investment makes her an ideal and exciting addition to the Quinbrook team as we continue our efforts to deliver impactful investments that will drive large-scale industrial decarbonization outcomes.”
In addition to Komulainen, Quinbrook announced the following senior appointments:
Cathy Jones, Chief People Officer: Jones will lead Quinbrook’s talent strategy. She previously held HR leadership roles at CVC Capital Partners, Alderwood Capital, and BNY Mellon.
Predrag Dukic, Senior Director of Capital Formation and Investor Engagement: Based in Germany, Dukic will enhance Quinbrook’s investor relations across Europe. He joins from DC Placement Advisors, where he specialized in infrastructure capital raising.
Nick Baker, Senior Director, US Investment Team: Based in New York, Baker brings expertise in renewable energy infrastructure. His previous roles include senior positions at BAES Infrastructure and Macquarie Capital.
Liv Miller, Director, UK Investment Team: Miller, previously at Statkraft, has extensive experience in renewable energy M&A and project development.
Scaysbrook emphasized the firm’s growth trajectory:
“Each of our new recruits joins Quinbrook during a time of significant momentum and growth, following three successful fund closings in the past year, representing over $4.3 billion in aggregate investor commitments. We look forward to the contributions they will make as we continue to develop some of the largest energy infrastructure projects ever undertaken in the US, UK, and Australia.”
