Nordea Asset Management has appointed Kasper From Larsen and Rachel Reutter as new Portfolio Managers within its Sustainable Thematic Team, reinforcing its investment capabilities across climate, transition, and impact strategies as client demand for sustainable allocations continues to grow. The appointments expand a team that already oversees more than €18 billion in assets and signal Nordea’s continued focus on building specialist expertise across sustainable thematic investing.
Nordea’s Sustainable Thematic Team manages a broad range of climate and impact-oriented strategies, spanning climate solutions, transition portfolios, and diversified impact funds. With the addition of From Larsen and Reutter, the team now comprises 15 investment professionals, including eight portfolio managers, operating across Copenhagen, London, and Singapore. The expanded team structure reflects Nordea’s ambition to deepen sector expertise while maintaining global coverage, as sustainability considerations increasingly shape long-term capital allocation decisions.

Kasper From Larsen joins Nordea following more than eleven years at Danske Bank Asset Management, where he most recently served as Senior Portfolio Manager. His experience includes responsibility for sectors central to the energy transition, including energy, utilities, infrastructure, and materials. At Nordea, From Larsen will support the development and management of existing climate-focused strategies while also contributing to the evaluation of new climate investment opportunities. His sector background is expected to strengthen Nordea’s ability to identify companies positioned to benefit from decarbonisation and infrastructure transformation.
Rachel Reutter joins Nordea after a thirteen-year tenure at J O Hambro Capital Management. She most recently served as lead Portfolio Manager for the JOHCM UK Opportunities Fund, where she oversaw a concentrated equity strategy with embedded ESG integration and a structured approach to corporate engagement. In her new role, Reutter will focus on Nordea’s impact strategies, including the Nordea 1 Global Impact Fund. Her experience in combining fundamental equity analysis with active ownership is expected to support Nordea’s emphasis on measurable impact alongside competitive financial returns.

Both portfolio managers will report to Thomas Sørensen and Henning Padberg, co-heads of Nordea’s Sustainable Thematic Team. Commenting on the appointments, Sørensen highlighted the complementary strengths the new hires bring to the group. He said that From Larsen and Reutter share a strong commitment to disciplined, high-quality sustainable investing and that their combined experience will enhance the team’s ability to deliver long-term outcomes aligned with client objectives.
The appointments come at a time when sustainable thematic strategies are under increasing scrutiny from investors seeking credible implementation rather than broad ESG labelling. By strengthening its portfolio management bench with experienced specialists, Nordea Asset Management is positioning its sustainable investment platform to navigate both market volatility and evolving regulatory expectations. For institutional investors, the move reinforces Nordea’s intent to maintain sustainability as a core investment capability, supported by dedicated expertise across climate, transition, and impact-focused mandates.
