Nike Inc. Appoints Cimarron Nix As Chief Sustainability Officer

Nike Inc. has promoted longtime executive Cimarron Nix to the role of Chief Sustainability Officer, strengthening its leadership bench as the company continues to embed environmental and social targets across its global operations.

In her new position, Nix will relocate to Nike’s global headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon, and report to Chief Operating Officer Venkatesh Alagirisamy. She succeeds Jaycee Pribulsky, who departed the company in September.

Internal Leadership Continuity

Nix joined Nike in 2017 as Director of Labor, Sustainable Manufacturing and Sourcing. Over the past eight years, she has held multiple operational and regional roles, including General Manager for Apparel and Accessories Partner Management across South Asia and EMEA. Most recently, she served as Vice President of Global Apparel and Accessories Manufacturing, based in Singapore.

Her background reflects a strong focus on supply chain responsibility and manufacturing oversight, areas central to Nike’s sustainability strategy. Before joining Nike, Nix held roles at Hewlett Packard in labor, health and safety and supply chain responsibility, as well as positions in corporate development and social responsibility at J. Crew and Level 3 Communications.

Sustainability As A Core Business Priority

According to COO Venkatesh Alagirisamy, Nix will lead Nike’s enterprise-wide sustainability strategy, which the company describes as central to protecting the future of sport. The role includes delivering measurable progress against sustainability targets and coordinating efforts across embedded sustainability teams throughout the organization.

Nike’s sustainability priorities span responsible sourcing, labor standards, emissions reduction, material innovation and circularity initiatives. With supply chain emissions typically representing the majority of a global apparel brand’s footprint, leadership experience in manufacturing and sourcing is strategically significant.

Financial Context

The leadership change comes as Nike reported second-quarter revenue of US$12.43 billion, exceeding analyst expectations of US$12.22 billion, according to LSEG data. The company continues to balance financial performance with long-term environmental and social commitments across its portfolio, which includes both the Nike and Converse brands.

By elevating a veteran with operational and supply chain expertise, Nike signals continued integration of sustainability within core business functions rather than positioning it as a standalone initiative.
