London-based assurance provider LRQA has acquired U.S.-based EcoEngineers, strengthening its position in energy transition consulting and sustainability services.
Strategic Expansion in Carbon Accounting and Energy Transition
LRQA, a leader in assurance and risk management, has announced the acquisition of EcoEngineers, an Iowa-based consulting firm specializing in low-carbon production, carbon markets, and climate regulations.
Founded in 2009, EcoEngineers initially focused on guiding low-carbon fuel producers through complex U.S. energy regulations. Today, its expertise spans the broader energy transition landscape, assisting businesses with greenhouse gas (GHG) verification and sustainability strategy.
Under the acquisition, 120 engineers, scientists, auditors, and consultants from EcoEngineers will join LRQA. The move enhances LRQA’s capabilities in carbon accounting and regulatory compliance, supporting businesses navigating evolving global climate policies.

This deal marks LRQA’s fifth acquisition in five months, reinforcing its sustainability-driven expansion. Recent acquisitions include:

- ELEVATE – sustainability and risk management consulting
