Chinese solar manufacturer JinkoSolar has unveiled its Tiger Neo 5.0 all-black residential solar module, featuring a maximum power output of 510 watts and a module efficiency of 25.52%. Announced on 17 October 2026, the new 48-cell panel uses the company's TAC technology, combining advanced solar cell processes with a design intended for premium residential rooftops. JinkoSolar says the product delivers higher power output and improved performance in hot conditions compared with conventional back-contact solar modules.
The Tiger Neo 5.0 incorporates elements of TOPCon and heterojunction (HJT) solar cell technologies. According to JinkoSolar, TAC combines the charge-carrier transport characteristics of TOPCon with low-temperature processing and positive electrode passivation associated with HJT. The company reports a peak cell efficiency of 28%, while the finished module achieves 25.52% efficiency through a zero-gap cell arrangement and hidden-ribbon interconnections. These design features aim to increase electricity generation within the limited surface area available on residential rooftops.

JinkoSolar also reports a power temperature coefficient of -0.24% per degree Celsius, indicating relatively limited power losses as operating temperatures rise above standard testing conditions. The company claims the Tiger Neo 5.0 delivers approximately 30W more power than conventional back-contact products, although the announcement does not identify the specific comparison models or testing conditions. Its uniform black appearance is designed to appeal to homeowners seeking solar panels that integrate with darker roofs and architectural designs.
Charlie Cao, CEO of Jinko Solar Co., Ltd., said, "Our vision for Tiger Neo 5.0 was to develop a panel tailored to premium residential rooftops." He added that the product incorporates innovations in cell technology, passivation processes, structural design and module interconnections. The launch reflects JinkoSolar's efforts to develop solar products for specific applications as manufacturers compete to improve efficiency and power density. While the company has detailed the module's technical specifications, it has not disclosed pricing, production volumes or a confirmed commercial availability schedule.
