JetZero Closes $100 Million Loan to Advance All-Wing Z4 Aircraft Program

JetZero Closes $100 Million Loan to Advance All-Wing Z4 Aircraft Program

JetZero has closed a senior secured term loan facility of up to $100 million, led by Pinegrove Partners and Silicon Valley Bank, a division of First Citizens Bank. Proceeds will fund technology maturation, manufacturing of the company's Demonstrator Jet1, and buildout of JetZero's manufacturing and test facilities in Greensboro, North Carolina, along with general working capital.

The Z4 is an all-wing aircraft designed for the middle market, carrying approximately 250 passengers over ranges up to 5,000 nautical miles, and is projected to cut fuel burn and emissions by up to 50 percent relative to conventional tube-and-wing aircraft of the same passenger capacity. The aircraft is expected to enter service in the early 2030s.

JetZero chief executive Tom O'Leary said the facility is "targeted for pace," framing the investment as advancing "aerospace innovation and reindustrializing America." Pinegrove partner Craig Caukin said the loan was "structured around the program's real milestones," with the lender group open to expanding the facility's capacity as the opportunity arises.

JetZero's full-scale Demonstrator, Jet1, being built with Scaled Composites, a Northrop Grumman company, was 40 percent complete as of June 2026, with first flight scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2027. The company broke ground on its Factory One production facility in North Carolina in June 2026, and plans to hire more than 14,000 people over 10 years in the state to support Z4 production.
