Geothermal Startup Ignis Energy Raises $12.5 Million for Global Expansion

Houston-based geothermal energy startup Ignis H2 Energy has secured $12.5 million in Series A funding to advance its geothermal exploration projects across multiple regions. The company, founded in 2021, leverages cutting-edge machine learning models to locate and assess geothermal resources, enhancing the success rate and mitigating exploration risks.

Ignis Energy has already acquired exploration sites in Turkey, Alaska, California, Nevada, and Italy, with a long-term goal of identifying geothermal reserves capable of generating one gigawatt of power by 2030.

Strategic Investment and Industry Support

The Series A round was led by alfa8, a family office specializing in geothermal innovation and next-gen renewables. Drilling giant Nabors Industries also committed to investing, alongside existing shareholders, private individuals, and family offices.
