FPT and Amata Group Sign MOU to Drive AI Transformation and Sustainability Across Southeast Asian Industrial Parks

FPT and Amata Group Sign MOU to Drive AI Transformation and Sustainability Across Southeast Asian Industrial Parks

Global technology corporation FPT and Amata Group, a leading industrial estate developer in Southeast Asia, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to advance AI-driven transformation across Amata's industrial parks in Thailand, Vietnam and the broader Southeast Asian region, with the MoU exchange ceremony witnessed by Thailand's Prime Minister H.E. Anutin Charnvirakul. The partnership will explore smart industrial estate development, manufacturing digitalisation, sustainable solutions including carbon tracking and renewable energy integration, and talent development programmes leveraging FPT's integrated education system. The collaboration covers Amata's industrial parks across multiple countries and reflects the accelerating shift in Southeast Asian industrial development toward AI-powered connected ecosystems that go beyond traditional digitalisation.

Smart Industrial Estate Development and Digital Infrastructure

The partnership will assess the design and implementation of intelligent industrial park solutions tailored to Amata's infrastructure, covering smart utilities management across energy, water and waste systems, AI-based monitoring and predictive maintenance, smart security and surveillance and digital twin technologies. IoT deployment, data platforms and analytics will be evaluated to enable more efficient and data-driven management of Amata's industrial environments, creating the operational intelligence layer that transforms conventional industrial estates into continuously optimised ecosystems. The collaboration will also explore the development of the Amata Digital Hub, a unified digital platform serving tenants within Amata's industrial parks, providing digital services including permitting, licensing and compliance processes, facility and service management, billing, supply chain connectivity and workforce services.

FPT will leverage its FleziPT end-to-end AI platform, a global workforce of more than 30,000 AI-augmented engineers, AI Factories across Vietnam and Japan and its CASAN five-level AI transformation framework spanning Curious, Augmented, Standard, Automatic and Native stages. This structured transformation model is designed to help enterprises progress from isolated AI initiatives to enterprise-wide adoption with measurable business impact, providing Amata with a clear implementation pathway rather than a technology deployment without strategic coherence. Levi Nguyen, Chief Executive Officer of FPT Thailand and FPT Taiwan, said the development of modern industrial parks is shifting toward integrated AI-driven ecosystems where operations are continuously optimised through data and intelligent systems, and that FPT is well positioned to partner with Amata in translating AI transformation into tangible efficiency, sustainability and value outcomes.

Manufacturing Digitalisation and ESG Integration

Beyond estate-level infrastructure, the partnership will pursue manufacturing digital transformation initiatives for enterprises operating within Amata's industrial parks, including smart factory solutions such as manufacturing execution systems, AI-driven quality control and robotics, ERP modernisation programmes and supply chain optimisation. ESG and sustainable development initiatives form an explicit component of the collaboration scope, covering carbon footprint tracking and reporting platforms, energy optimisation and renewable energy integration, and direct support for Amata's sustainability commitments and Net Zero roadmap. The inclusion of carbon tracking and ESG reporting capabilities within an industrial park digital transformation partnership reflects the growing integration of sustainability management into core operational digitalisation rather than treating it as a separate reporting function.

Somhatai Panichewa, Chief Executive Officer of Amata VN Public Company Limited, said the partnership reflects Amata's commitment to shaping the next generation of industrial development through stronger digital capabilities, smarter infrastructure and closer collaboration with trusted technology partners. She said the vision aligns with Amata Group's overarching objective of building smart, sustainable industrial cities through high-quality infrastructure and strategic alliances. The aspiration to create smart, sustainable industrial cities rather than simply digitising existing industrial estate operations represents a more ambitious transformation agenda that encompasses the full lifecycle of industrial activity from infrastructure design through tenant operations to waste and emissions management.

Talent Development and Regional Technology Leadership

The partnership will develop academic programmes and vocational training courses within the Amata industrial park ecosystem, leveraging FPT's integrated education system to equip the workforce with skills in digital manufacturing and smart factory operations. The establishment of certificate-granting centres across Amata's industrial parks addresses a skills gap that is frequently identified as a constraint on digitalisation in Southeast Asian manufacturing, where demand for workers capable of operating AI-enhanced production systems outpaces the supply from conventional technical education institutions. FPT's established presence across more than 500 enterprises in Asia Pacific, supporting clients including Unilever, Honda, Panasonic, Mitsubishi and major financial institutions, provides the commercial track record and implementation capability that underpins Amata's confidence in the partnership.

The presence of Thailand's Prime Minister at the MoU signing ceremony reflects the strategic significance of the collaboration for Thailand's industrial development ambitions and the government's interest in positioning the country as a smart industrial hub within Southeast Asia. FPT's co-founder role in the Vietnam-Thailand Chamber of Commerce further embeds the partnership within a bilateral economic development framework that gives the collaboration political and institutional support alongside its commercial logic. As Southeast Asian industrial parks compete globally for high-value manufacturing investment, the ability to offer AI-enhanced infrastructure, digital tenant services and embedded sustainability management capabilities is becoming a differentiating factor in attracting the industries of the next generation.
