Logistics giant DHL Group’s air and ocean freight business, DHL Global Forwarding, recently announced the launch of its new GoGreen Plus Portfolio. This new initiative offers shippers a suite of decarbonization-focused products, including an industry-first offering aimed at achieving a 10% emissions reduction at a flat rate across markets, shipment types, and routes. This approach ensures scalability and accessibility for businesses of all sizes.
GoGreen Plus – Achieving Real Emissions Reductions
DHL’s GoGreen service has long provided shippers with the option of climate-neutral shipping by investing in internationally recognized climate protection projects to offset emissions generated during transport. With the introduction of GoGreen Plus, the company now offers real emissions reductions through carbon “insetting.” This service enables shippers to replace conventional fossil fuels with sustainable fuels or clean technologies, such as Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), using a book-and-claim approach. This shift moves beyond mere offsetting and takes a direct approach to reducing emissions in the supply chain.

New Products for Businesses of All Sizes
The new GoGreen Plus offerings include GoGreen Plus Base, which provides a default 10% emissions reduction for all eligible shipments at a fixed flat rate. This applies across markets, shipment types, and routes, irrespective of origin or destination, making it fully scalable and available to customers of all sizes. This is a significant step forward in enabling sustainable supply chains on a large scale without requiring large investments from smaller businesses.
Additionally, GoGreen Plus Premium provides a more significant 85% emissions reduction through book-and-claim solutions, priced at lane level. For larger GoGreen Plus customers, GoGreen Plus Select offers tailored decarbonization solutions with flexible emissions reduction levels that can be customized to individual supply chains.

Sustainability Goals and Growing Demand
The introduction of these new services comes as demand for reliable, emission-reduced logistics services continues to rise. The launch is part of DHL Global Forwarding’s broader sustainability roadmap, which was first introduced in 2021. This roadmap includes targets to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 and aims for the company to use 30% sustainable fuels by 2030.
DHL’s Chief Commercial Officer, Amanda Rasmussen, expressed pride in introducing solutions that truly change what customers can expect from emission-reduced logistics. This move positions DHL at the forefront of innovation in sustainable logistics, providing real emissions reductions and setting a new standard in the industry.
