Filtrabit, a clean technology firm based in Oulu, Finland, has secured a €2 million funding commitment from Ajanta Innovations 2 Ky for its upcoming financing round. The commitment is expected to support the company’s next phase of growth and market expansion.

Expansion Beyond Finland

The company plans to use the capital to scale deployment of its modular dust extraction systems beyond Finland, with a focus on the Nordics, Central Europe and India. Filtrabit says demand is being driven by tighter environmental regulations as well as operational and economic benefits for industrial operators.

Technology Targeting Particulate Emissions

Founded in 2011, Filtrabit develops industrial-scale solutions that extract microparticles from dust-laden gas streams. According to the company, the technology reduces particulate emissions from heavy industry while enabling the recovery and reuse of raw materials, supporting both air quality improvement and emissions reduction goals.

Flexible, Modular Deployment Model

Filtrabit offers its dust separation units through an operating lease model, alongside support for system design, hooding and ducting. The company states that its portable, serially manufactured units can be retrofitted without building permits and installed within a day when infrastructure is in place. Customers include steel mills, foundries, quarries, and mining and ore-processing operations.

Building on Recent Financing Support

The latest commitment follows multiple funding milestones over the past two years, including a €2 million raise in 2025, a €600,000 product development grant from Business Finland, lease financing from the Finnish Climate Fund, and a loan facility from Norion Bank. Together, these financings support Filtrabit’s efforts to expand clean air solutions for heavy industry globally.
