The European Investment Fund (EIF), part of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Group, has allocated €75 million to the Serena Infra II infrastructure fund, reinforcing its dedication to promoting innovation and sustainability across Europe. This investment supports the fund’s focus on clean energy, sustainable transport, water, as well as digital and social infrastructure.

Focus and Scale of the Serena Infra II Fund

Managed by Spanish infrastructure specialist Serena Industrial Partners, Serena Infra II targets a total fund size of €250 million. The fund concentrates on sustainable infrastructure projects at various development stages, including early-stage initiatives in areas critical to the energy transition, such as biogas, biomass, and energy efficiency, alongside sustainable mobility and social infrastructure.

Investment Strategy and Project Pipeline

The fund plans to invest in 8 to 10 infrastructure projects, with typical investments ranging between €25 million and €30 million per project. These initiatives emphasize green transport and clean energy solutions, essential components in Europe’s transition to a low-carbon economy and the construction of a resilient and sustainable future.
