DHL Express Japan partners with Cosmo Oil for 7.2M litres of SAF annually, starting 2025. Nagoya Airport becomes Asia’s first hub for SAF-powered cargo flights, cutting emissions and advancing sustainability.
DHL Express Japan and Cosmo Oil Marketing have signed a groundbreaking agreement to supply 7.2 million litres of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) per year, beginning in April 2025. This deal marks a significant milestone for Asia, as Nagoya Airport will become the first in the region among DHL’s global network of 500 airports to use SAF for scheduled air cargo flights.

- Production Source: SAF will be produced locally at Cosmo Oil’s new facility, operational by 2025, via its subsidiary Saffaire Sky Energy.

- Industry First: DHL is the first international express company to use SAF in scheduled cargo flights in Asia.
