BYD Energy Storage and Saudi Electricity Co. have signed an agreement to develop a 12.5-gigawatt-hour (GWh) battery energy storage system (BESS)—the largest grid-scale energy storage project in history. This milestone expands their total collaboration to 15.1 GWh, including a previously completed 2.6 GWh project.

Strengthening Energy Infrastructure
The BESS units will be deployed across five locations in Saudi Arabia. BYD will supply its MC Cube-T energy storage system, which leverages Cell-to-System (CTS) technology to optimize energy density and efficiency.
