Bureau Veritas has expanded its sustainability advisory capabilities in the United Kingdom through the acquisition of two specialist consultancies, Verte and Sustainable Construction Services (SCS). The move strengthens the company’s Buildings and Infrastructure division and increases its capacity to support clients developing energy efficient and low carbon assets across the UK construction and real estate sectors.
The acquisitions form part of Bureau Veritas’ LEAP | 28 strategic plan, which prioritizes growth in sustainability related services and aims to reinforce the company’s position in high value advisory and certification markets. By integrating the expertise of Verte and SCS, Bureau Veritas intends to deepen its advisory capabilities in green building certification, net zero strategies and energy performance optimization.
Strengthening Green Building and Net Zero Advisory
Verte and Sustainable Construction Services have developed specialized expertise in sustainability consulting for the built environment. Their services include green building certification support, energy modelling, embodied carbon analysis, net zero carbon strategies and building energy performance assessments.
Both consultancies have been particularly active in delivering BREEAM certification projects, one of the most widely used sustainability assessment frameworks for buildings in Europe. Through these services, they have supported developers and property owners seeking to improve building performance and meet evolving environmental standards.
By incorporating these capabilities into its existing Buildings and Infrastructure product line, Bureau Veritas expands its ability to assist clients throughout the lifecycle of construction projects, from early stage design through to certification and regulatory compliance.
Expanding Expertise Across the UK Property Market
Together, Verte and SCS bring more than forty sustainability specialists into Bureau Veritas’ UK operations. The two companies also provide complementary geographic coverage, strengthening the firm’s presence across Greater London, the Southeast of England and the Southwest region including Bristol.
Founded in 2008 and 2013 respectively, the consultancies have built client portfolios that span multiple segments of the construction ecosystem. Their work has involved collaboration with property investors, real estate developers, architects, project managers, planning consultants, engineering firms and major construction contractors.
This client diversity reflects the increasing integration of sustainability considerations across the built environment, where carbon reduction, energy efficiency and regulatory compliance have become central components of project development and asset management.

Supporting Low Carbon Construction and Infrastructure
The integration of Verte and SCS is expected to expand Bureau Veritas’ ability to support organizations seeking to design and deliver climate resilient infrastructure and buildings. As environmental regulations tighten and investor expectations around sustainable real estate increase, demand for specialized sustainability advisory services has grown across the construction sector.
Through the expanded service offering, Bureau Veritas aims to help clients navigate green building certification requirements, improve building energy performance and integrate carbon reduction strategies into project planning.
The acquisitions also reflect a broader trend within the testing, inspection and certification industry, where firms are expanding sustainability advisory capabilities to meet the evolving needs of infrastructure developers, property owners and institutional investors focused on climate aligned assets.
