France-based testing, inspection, and certification group Bureau Veritas has acquired Italian sustainability consultancy SPIN360, strengthening its advisory and data capabilities in the fashion and luxury sectors. The transaction reflects rising demand from premium brands for integrated sustainability, compliance, and supply chain assurance as regulatory and investor scrutiny intensifies across global apparel value chains.

 

Building Deeper Expertise in Fashion and Luxury Sustainability

 

Founded in 2009 and headquartered in Milan, SPIN360 has built a niche advising fashion, luxury, and materials-focused companies on environmental and social performance. Its work spans strategy development, science-based measurement, and operational implementation, supporting clients as sustainability expectations move from voluntary commitments toward regulated requirements.

SPIN360’s technical services include life cycle assessment and costing, environmental product declarations, carbon footprinting, supply chain engagement and monitoring, and ESG reporting. Its client base covers fashion and luxury brands as well as upstream segments such as tanneries, material suppliers, softline manufacturers, and footwear producers, areas that are increasingly exposed to Scope 3 emissions reporting and due diligence obligations.

Federico Brugnoli, founder and chief executive of SPIN360, framed the move as a step toward scaling impact rather than an exit from independence.
