Aptiv Demonstrates Intelligent Edge Systems Across Mobility and Robotics at CES 2026

Aptiv Demonstrates Intelligent Edge Systems Across Mobility and Robotics at CES 2026

At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, Aptiv PLC is presenting how its intelligent edge technologies enable real-time sensing, decision-making, and actuation across automotive, robotics, aerospace, and other mission-critical applications. The showcase highlights how moving advanced computing and artificial intelligence closer to where data is generated can deliver faster response times and continuous system optimisation.

Edge AI as the Foundation for Real-Time Performance

Aptiv’s CES demonstrations focus on processing data locally at the edge rather than relying exclusively on cloud-based systems. This architecture supports lower latency and higher reliability in safety-critical environments, allowing connected devices to adapt and respond instantly. According to Aptiv, the same core technologies already deployed in millions of vehicles are now being extended into robotics and aerospace use cases.

Javed Khan, Executive Vice President and President of Intelligent Systems at Aptiv, said the company is showing how edge-based perception, decision-making, and control can deliver safer and more adaptive experiences across multiple industries.

Advancing Automated Driving Systems

In automotive applications, Aptiv is showcasing its next-generation end-to-end AI-powered advanced driver assistance platform, designed to support hands-free L2++ autonomy in both highway and urban settings. The platform applies AI across perception, sensor fusion, and behaviour planning, learning from real-world driving data to improve performance over time.

Key technologies include Aptiv’s Gen 8 radars, which offer extended range and higher-resolution object detection in diverse conditions, and the PULSE™ sensor, which combines surround-view cameras with ultra-short-range radar to deliver full 360-degree perception. Together, these systems are intended to support safe navigation across urban, highway, and parking scenarios regardless of lighting or weather.

Digital Cockpit and In-Cabin Intelligence

Aptiv is also introducing updates to its Digital Cockpit technologies, aimed at improving safety and personalisation for passenger and commercial vehicles. The solutions integrate user experience design, ADAS capabilities, and middleware to support collaboration between drivers and automated systems during hands-free driving.

The company’s Driver Monitoring System and Cabin Monitoring System use vision and radar sensing to assess occupancy and driver readiness, enabling safety-critical decisions without relying on traditional seat-based sensors. Synthetic data environments are used to accelerate AI training and development, while modular software features support personalised audio, user profiles, and in-vehicle preferences through the Aptiv Android Automotive Framework.

Connectivity and Software-Defined Vehicles

Connectivity is another focus area at CES 2026. Aptiv is highlighting work with Verizon to explore Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything technology, combining 5G connectivity with edge computing to improve road safety. Demonstrations show how vehicles can share information such as the location of pedestrians or cyclists that may be obscured from view.

These capabilities are enabled by Aptiv’s LINC™ Software Platform, a modular, cloud-native system designed for real-time embedded applications. The platform supports software-defined networking, container management, edge intelligence, and communications middleware, helping manufacturers accelerate development of connected and software-defined vehicles.

Extending Edge Intelligence Beyond Automotive

Beyond mobility, Aptiv’s CES pavilion features applications in robotics and aerospace. Demonstrations include collaborative robots and autonomous mobile robots for material handling that integrate Aptiv’s perception sensors and compute platforms. Additional showcases feature Wind River technologies such as the VxWorks real-time operating system and Helix virtualisation platform, underscoring Aptiv’s focus on reliability in mission-critical environments.

Thought Leadership at CES 2026

Aptiv is also hosting two sessions at CES 2026. One explores how edge AI is shaping advanced mobility across automotive and aerospace, while the second examines how 5G and edge computing are enabling real-time vehicle-to-everything communication. Both sessions bring together experts from Aptiv and its technology partners to discuss how intelligent edge systems are influencing the future of connected and automated systems.

Through its CES 2026 presence, Aptiv positions intelligent edge computing as a unifying layer that connects autonomy, personalisation, and connectivity across industries where real-time performance is essential.
