Antrique Breaks Ground on AI Innovation Campus and Coffee Plantation Pilot in Brunei

Antrique Holdings has broken ground on an AI Innovation Campus in Brunei Darussalam and launched an AI-Powered Food Innovation Initiative, built on an AI infrastructure platform developed with NVIDIA. The initiative's first application is an AI-enabled coffee plantation combining artificial intelligence, renewable energy and precision agriculture, intended to improve productivity, sustainability and crop quality. No investment figure, campus capacity, renewable energy generation figure, or crop yield data was disclosed in the announcement.

 

The coffee plantation is intended to generate datasets to support Brunei-specific AI models, with the company saying it plans to progressively expand the initiative into agriculture, aquaculture, fisheries and other sectors, though no timeline or scale was specified for that expansion. The groundbreaking ceremony was officiated by Brunei's Coordinating Minister of Economic Policies and Minister of Economy and Trade and Industry, Dato Seri Setia Dr Haji Abdul Manaf Bin Haji Metussin, who called for stronger collaboration among government agencies, academia and the private sector to ensure technology adoption delivers meaningful benefits for the country's economic diversification efforts.

Antrique separately said it plans to develop a platform called TokenFactory, intended to enable creation and commercialisation of AI-ready digital assets and specialised AI models, and is exploring potential collaboration with international universities and research institutions including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, though both remain stated intentions rather than confirmed or completed developments.

Antrique Holdings director Alvina Lau said the company's ambition was to build AI solutions developed, validated and deployed from Brunei that create impact beyond the country's borders.
