Absolute Climate has introduced a new certification pathway designed to verify and transfer product-level climate benefits from low-carbon materials into carbon management markets through Environmental Attribute Certificates (EACs).
The framework aims to create a structured mechanism for products such as low-carbon concrete, green steel and sustainable aviation fuel to generate verifiable climate claims that can be purchased and used by organizations even when direct sourcing is not feasible.
Turning Measured Climate Benefits into Transferable Claims
The new pathway enables manufacturers to quantify emissions reductions at the product level using facility data and life cycle assessment methodologies. Once verified, those measured benefits can be converted into Environmental Attribute Certificates.
While the physical product continues through its conventional supply chain, the associated climate benefit can be transferred and exclusively claimed by a buyer elsewhere. This structure is intended to address barriers such as regional supply constraints, procurement limitations and project timelines that prevent direct sourcing of low-carbon materials.
The framework distinguishes clearly between emissions reductions embedded in products and carbon removal activities, ensuring that claims reflect the type of climate impact delivered.

Guardrails for Integrity and Double Counting Prevention
Absolute Climate’s certification process is built around a defined rule set requiring measured evidence before certificates are issued. EACs are created only after products have passed through their normal supply chains and are based on facility-level operational data combined with rigorous life cycle assessments.
Each certificate represents a single, traceable claim and is tracked through registry partners to prevent double counting. The approach is designed to ensure that reductions are claimed once and that atmospheric impacts are accurately represented.
By separating standard-setting and quality assurance from credit issuance and market participation, the company positions the framework as an independent verification layer intended to strengthen market credibility.
Expanding Capital Access for Low-Carbon Producers
The model also seeks to unlock financing for low-carbon suppliers. By monetizing verified product-level climate benefits, producers may gain an additional revenue stream that can support scaling and capital investment.
For buyers, the framework offers access to verified climate benefits in cases where direct material substitution is constrained by geography or availability. This expands participation in decarbonization efforts while maintaining measured accountability.
