Position summary

Blue Earth Capital, a global independent impact investor, is hiring a Vice President for its Private Credit team focused on EMEA. The role provides broad credit exposure across markets (primarily Africa, with additional opportunities in Europe) and deal types, leading analysis, due diligence, deal execution, and portfolio management on investments that deliver measurable social and environmental impact alongside financial returns.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse opportunities by leading financial modeling, credit risk assessment, industry research, and operational analysis of prospective investments.
• Develop investment theses by structuring deals, conducting on-site due diligence, and producing investment recommendations.
• Lead transactions by negotiating and drafting legal documentation and coordinating with internal and external counterparties.
• Manage the portfolio by overseeing portfolio companies, monitoring materials, valuations, and proactively addressing issues through the investment period.
• Drive origination and strategy by contributing to deal sourcing, strategic planning, and thematic research for the EMEA department.
• Integrate impact by assessing the impact and credit profile of each opportunity from screening to Investment Committee and embedding impact and ESG with investees.

Team and stakeholders

The role sits within Blue Earth Capital's EMEA Private Credit team, a small, international group with flat structure and senior-leader exposure, working with portfolio company management, internal and external counsel, and the wider investment community.

Key details

• Based in London, UK, or Madrid, Spain; hybrid working.
• Primary investment focus on Africa, with additional opportunities in Europe, across buyouts, corporate loans, growth capital, venture debt, and asset-based lending.
• Blue Earth Capital is owned by the Blue Earth Foundation, a Swiss charitable trust.
• Must be eligible to work in the UK or Spain.

Requirements

• 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in financial services or investment management, preferably private credit or leveraged finance.
• Strong financial modelling, investment writing, and interpersonal skills.
• Experience leading deals from due diligence to execution.
• Experience in emerging markets or a demonstrated passion for impact investing, development finance, or social enterprise.
• A network across the investment community to support origination.
• Previous line management experience and experience working across multiple time zones.
• Self-motivated, proactive team player; proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint.
