You will provide decision-useful analysis, support strategic engagement with stakeholders, and help inform leadership on key developments across European energy markets, working across multiple functions to advance energy and environmental priorities.

Why this role matters

This role sits at the intersection of energy, finance, and public policy, helping the firm and its clients navigate Europe's evolving energy landscape. By evaluating policy and market developments, coordinating cross-functional input, and engaging external stakeholders, the VP contributes to solutions supporting a more affordable, secure, and resilient energy future.

Key responsibilities

  • Policy evaluation: Evaluate emerging European energy policy and regulatory developments and assess their potential commercial implications, translating them into clear, actionable insights for business stakeholders.
  • Engagement strategy: Partner with corporate functions and business teams to support energy policy positions and engagement strategies, and coordinate cross-functional input on electricity market design, grid planning, permitting, and public finance frameworks.
  • Partnerships: Design and execute external partnerships, grants, and events supporting energy and sustainability priorities, and represent the firm with industry groups, policy stakeholders, academic institutions, and non-profits.
  • Project leadership: Lead the planning, execution, and governance of strategic projects and initiatives, and develop reports, presentations, and briefing materials for internal and external audiences.
  • Monitoring: Monitor trends across power, transport, infrastructure, and related energy sectors, and support senior leadership with analysis and recommendations.

Team and stakeholders

The role works across corporate functions and business teams and engages external stakeholders including industry groups, policymakers, academic institutions, and non-profit organizations, supporting senior leadership.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Energy Systems, Public Policy, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • Experience analysing energy policy, regulation, or market developments, with knowledge of European energy markets and regulatory frameworks.
  • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to interpret complex developments and communicate their implications clearly.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, experience managing multiple projects, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with generative AI and LLM tools.
  • Preferred: expertise in European wholesale electricity markets and market design, EU energy and climate policy frameworks, UK energy policy, grid/transmission/distribution or utility planning, and stakeholder engagement experience; advanced degree.
